Our History and Work

RAAM construction is a London based construction, repair and refurbishment company. Working with commercial, government and private clients on medium to large projects.

RAAM Construction Ltd was established in 2006 in Enfield, North London as a family-run company and has evolved into a reliable partner that builds, refurbishes and repairs over 1000 properties a year across London. Our aim is to provide exactly what our client requires, while achieving long-term asset management objectives and immediate cost-saving targets.

We cover all types of building work, from new builds and extensions to maintenance and responsive repairs to existing properties. We have been working with housing associations to maintain and repair their properties, and we have also refurbished various residential and commercial units. Recently we have been working with largest house builders in UK , resolving defects and NHBC claims. Our service delivery is centred on efficiency, quality management and continuous improvement.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Our approach to health and safety is based on the idea of personal commitment and individual empowerment. We believe everyone has a right to return home safely every day and a duty to take care of themselves and those around them.

It’s important that everyone understands our approach to health and safety – and feels empowered to play their part. For this reason, we have introduced face to face safety commitment interviews for all new starters, including subcontractors. One of the key aims of this exercise is to encourage a culture of care and mutual respect by strengthening relationships between management and the workforce.

We all have a part to play in keeping our workplaces safe. One of the most effective ways we can do this is by being aware of the risks around us and taking action to address these. That’s why we actively encourage all our people to regularly assess their working environments and report any identified risks – as they arise.

Core Values

Core Values

Our values have been shaped over more than a decade of delivering the finest construction services in London. Having stood to the test of time, these principles remain our bedrock lynchpins. We never cut on quality, the pace of work or any other construction aspect. Our passion for construction and the importance we place on the relationships with our clients, ensure we always deliver on our promise of efficiency!

Client Satisfaction

CLIENT FOCUS

We go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are satisfied with our work. Customer service is an essential part of the quality process and to ensure this is fulfilled, all employees receive training to practise awareness and understanding of quality and its impact on customer service. This is regularly reviewed and subject to an annual audit. We treat our clients the way we would like to be treated and make sure we accommodate their individual requirements.

Investing in people

INVESTING IN PEOPLE

We believe the key to success is a strong team. Therefore, we hire competent, honest and hardworking individuals and provide training for all our staff including contractors. We also run an apprentice program giving young members of the community a chance to learn skills from an experienced mentor. Over the past years, we have been growing organically, carefully vetting our staff to ensure that all our operatives are like-minded when it comes to delivering great quality as well as customer service.

RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR

Health and safety is our number one priority, and we ensure that everyone, including our operatives, the client and the public, is safe. There is no room for error in this area and we comply with all given safety requirements without compromise. Our director has been awarded the NEBOSH National certificate in General, Construction, Fire, Health and Safety. We are also continuously awarded CHAS and Constructionline Certificates. If you would like to hear more about our health and safety measurements, please get in touch.

People Development

Giving opportunities to develop and providing skilled workers for the future

Why offer apprenticeships

Apprenticeships provide skilled workers for the future. It training helps employees to improve their skills, which will benefit the company in the long term.

Employees who have been trained in-house tend to be highly motivated, committed to the company and supportive of its business objectives.

An apprenticeship encourages employees to think of their job as a career and to stay with the company for longer, which reduces recruitment costs. Offering an apprenticeship to an existing member of staff shows that you see them as an integral part of the workforce and are happy to invest in their future.

Having apprentices that our senior staff can delegate tasks to frees up their time to work on highly skilled or challenging assignments that require our most experienced team members. This also gives the apprentice plenty of work to help develop their skills and build up to taking on more responsibilities.

This makes our business more productive and means our chief engineers are spending more of their time designing solutions for our clients than admin

As apprentices come from a range of backgrounds their fresh ideas/insights and eagerness to learn help us innovate and keep existing staff motivated.

What do our current apprentices have to say about their experience?

"I have enjoyed every minute and absolutely love it here at RAAM. Being young and coming straight from school RAAM has been like a second home. Everyone is very supportive and helpful and I have become part of the team. RAAM has given me many transferable life skills, skills that simply cannot be taught from a textbook. My apprenticeship and placement at here, together with my college course is well structured and has provided me with all the practical and academic experience needed to kickstart my career in Electrics. I cannot wait to see what my future with RAAM holds."
